Townhome Association Case Study

After hiring multiple management companies lasting no more than two years each, the Association turned to NS Management for guidance. Frequent changes in management and board composition resulted in homeowner resistance to the Board’s efforts to address long-standing issues. These included inconsistent rules enforcement and serious collection issues. NSM tackled the collection matters first, working with new legal counsel to transform $26,000+ in uncollected assessments to a surplus of $7500 in only 18 months. The Association Rules were revised by the new Board and enforced by management in a fair, consistent manner. A major capital improvement program already underway was completed with great efficiency and a corresponding improvement in property values. A sense of stability now predominates a previously unstable environment.
